The Ever-Classy Porte-Cochère

Just like Buckingham Palace, the White House, and an 18th Century Mansion...
your home can have a Porte-cochère!

Also called a "carriage porch" this architectural feature is the porch-like structure through which a horse and carriage (or motor vehicle) can pass, usually to protect passengers from the weather.  Some of our homeowners use a porte-cochère or car port to separate the main home from the guest house or the garages.

Below are pictures of a home in different phases of construction, showing the long trusses used to create a beautiful porte-cochère, adding elegant character to the home.
