Wrought Iron

The term "wrought iron" might be conjuring images of the Eiffel Tower, but you can add that same beautifully structured awe to your home.  The word "wrought" is an archaic form of the word "to work," so "wrought iron" actually means "worked iron".  Pieces of ornamental worked iron can be used on fireplaces and doors to add refinement and beauty.  Below are two fireplace covers with rich detail that show magnificently against the glow of a fire. Here, entire doors are fashioned, one with only wrought iron that leads into a wine room and the other combined with glass into the wood frame of the door to a home office.

Reminiscent of speakeasy days, a wrought iron grate covering a closable window on a front door adds character and style.
As always, when designing a home with McCullough Design Development, the possibilities don't end there!  Add wrought irons fences, gates, wall decor, etc. to your custom built home!  For more informa…

On the exterior of Lot 1 we have started to put up the clapboard/hardiboard siding!

This house is going to be adorable! Stay tuned!

Cabanas are structures that provide shade and refuge on a scorching summer day and can be a great addition to a pool area. In San Diego, where the weather is practically perfect year round, you might as well take advantage of the out doors.

Cabanas can be built with endless options!  Add walls, curtains or just keep it open and breezy.  Put in a private bathroom and shower, a wet bar with bar stools, or fill it with lounge chairs or patio funiture for comfortable dining.

When you build a custom home with McCullough Design Development, we design and build a home that suits your needs and lifestyle.  For more information on building a home with MDD, visit our website at!

The first house at Aubrey Station has been moisture wrapped and windows have been put in!  The roof has also been felted and loaded.  Rough electrical, HVAC, and the tubs are in.  We have even waterproofed the shower already!

This home is coming together nicely and will make a magnificent model for the rest of the Aubrey Station homes in January!  For more information, check out our website at or call Lori at 858-431-9622

Aubrey Station Union Tribune Article

This was the article that ran in the Union Tribune on July 21st about our new development in Poway!
McCullough Design Development Introduces Aubrey Station
In this ever-changing economy, home builders are adapting to the shifting conditions and needs of the housing market. McCullough Design Development (MDD), San Diego’s premier estate home builder, is no exception.
Known for designing and building single level estate homes, MDD announces an exciting project, a brand new development of 3,000 square-foot homes in Poway. Located near Old Poway Park, the development named Aubrey Station will feature a quaint cul-de-sac of six single-level homes. Designed with clap-board siding, dormers, and white picket fencing, the homes will fit perfectly into Old Poway’s restored turn-of-the-century look, like a neighborhood straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. MDD plans to showcase the new model home by early January 2013.
