McCullough Design Development:
The McCullough Design Mystique
Last month McCullough Design
Development held a grand opening for their latest Showcase Home located inside
the Gables Crossing development at Del Sur.
Hundreds of people joined them to see and experience their newest
design. Clap board siding along with
beautiful stone work and detailed shutters designate the exterior of this home
as Island Mountain architecture. The comfortable,
contemporary, modern sophistication of the interior complements the rugged
appeal of the exterior. But no matter
the characteristics and features of an MDD home, there is always the same feeling
- a feeling of quality, precision, and craftsmanship - the McCullough design mystique.
MDD’s construction and finishes are
superior from the foundation to the chimney tops. Using minimum of 2x6 fully insulated walls
throughout, they continue the craftsmanship with triple layer water proofing on
all exterior walls, roofs, and openings.
As a testimony to excellence, their finishes include 8’ tall, 4-hinged, solid
wood doors, rich hardwood or natural stone flooring, solid granite countertops,
and high-end appliances and plumbing fixtures.
What truly stands out though, is
their commitment to high-quality design.
Every floorplan is efficiently designed so that furniture and television
walls are outlined, traffic patterns are considered, and every square foot is used. MDD has done away with the unused formal rooms,
large grandiose staircases, and 20’ tall ceilings that must be heated and cooled. Instead, their homes are designed with 10’ and
12’ tall estate height ceilings throughout and elegantly efficient entry ways
that lead directly into the main focus of their homes – the great room. Here, an entertainment-sized kitchen
overlooks the family room and adjoins to the spacious café dining nook. The great room opens through disappearing flush
track French doors to the outdoor covered veranda room where San Diego’s
weather can be taken advantage of.
Bringing the outdoors in and the indoors out, this area is the new
living room and dining room for San Diego.
The veranda room also features a fireplace, television and an outdoor
kitchen, making it easy to lounge, entertain, dine, or simply escape from the
cares of the day.
MDD designs Estate homes, meaning
hallways are a little wider and their bedroom en-suites are large enough to
fit King and Queen sized bedroom sets, with private baths and walk-in
closets. They have also perfected what
they call the “alcove lap-top office”.
This is a small walk-in office off of the kitchen perfectly located to
get-away and get things done, all within reach of what is going on in the great
room.
Storage is another feature that distinguishes
the MDD home. Each of their homes has an
ample amount of hallway storage closets and large walk-in kitchen pantries big
enough for the Costco shopping trips and able to accommodate secondary
refrigerators. The showcase home also features
a mudroom or “throw” room leading in from the garage for kids to hang up
jackets or drop off shoes and backpacks, before cluttering the rest of the
home. Laundry rooms are lined with upper
and lower cabinetry, and garages are spacious enough for cabinets, shelves, and
work benches. And don’t forget the
master bedroom closet, filled with enough shelving, drawers, and rods to
fulfill anyone’s apparel and shoe needs - the master closet can never be large
enough.
McCullough Design Development’s new
model home showcases all of these exquisite construction and design features
and amenities that come standard in MDD’s custom estates. Visit weekends from 12-5pm or weekdays from
9-4pm. For more information contact Lori
